I've just read 'Just a girl'. It is beyond heartbreaking what Scarlett has been through. I've read a fair few abuse stories and they're all equally shocking and I will be forever disgusted by what abusers do. I will never understand why any human can treat another this way. I send Scarlett lots of healing and strength and a message to all the people who have abused you is ‘You are all worth nothing’ and my message to Scarlett is 'You are worth everything.’ It was written very well and I liked how Scarlett talked to her younger self throughout the book.

This very brave book deals with parental abuse as well as the infamous child sexual exploitation that has infected my hometown of Telford for far too long. It was a difficult but hugely important read, and I have so much admiration for the author and how she managed to survive everything she was put through. I have literally no idea of the strength it must have taken to tell her story.

Dear Scarlett, I am sorry you where put through such hideous experiences, no woman should ever have to endure the pain and heartache you have but especially not as a young child. You should be so proud of yourself for speaking out, you really are an amazing woman and mother. I hope letting go of this and speaking out has helped you heal, even just a little more. You are so strong Scarlett and keep your chin up, you deserve every happiness xx
